"Part of the musical’s charm: its ability to relate to most, if not all, students."
Wessex Scene
In 2010 a group of university friends decided to write a show about freshers' week. They did just that and premiered the show at the 2010 Edinburgh Festival Fringe. From the moment the curtain went down for the first time, FRESHER was a sell-out hit for people of all ages, but especially students. With the MTM Best New Musical award under their arm, the team then oversaw the show's move to London and back to Edinburgh for a second sell-out year.
FRESHER charts the arrival of five fresh-faced teenagers at university. Faced with a world free from rules, parents and responsibilities, the five soon learn that first impressions could mean everything. FRESHER was written for touring, small stages and Fringe theatre. It can be performed anywhere and to any audience looking for a good time. The show is uproariously funny, but also a genuine and sensitive take on the world of Freshers' Week.
